Happy Sunday! (Never posted)

I hope you have had a great weekend so far!  Mine has been alright, can't complain.  Haven't been too productive, but I have a  week ahead of me with no work, meaning I can concentrate on posting things on the etsy store, and getting this house together (hopefully).  Not to mention my favorite meal of the year is coming up!  Mmmm, can't wait!

Last night I made me some "Pumpkin Delight."  Someone had mentioned it on a blog, and I looked up and barely found any recipes.  The blogger had mentioned yellow cake mix, so I finally found a recipe with the yellow cake mix, which had me sold.  The directions did not make any sense, so it looks kind of weird, but it tastes A-MAZING!

Update: So, I never posted this, or finished it (by accident).  But, here it is.  And here are somy crappy pictures of the pumpkin delight I have been chowing down on.  Hope you had a great weekend!

Happy Sunday!

Hello folks!  Hope you had a great weekend.  I haven't had a chance to post a 'Happy Sunday' post in a while.  My weekend went by fast, as they always do.  I survived my first full week of a new, full time job paired with a very new commute.  Back to the grind tomorrow.  I have a million and one things on my plate right now, which is no one's fault but mine...well, plus the holidays.  But, I guess being busy is what keeps me sane and takes away my over thinking (but only to an extent).  And this time I'm busy with things that I enjoy and want to be doing for myself, so I just gotta keep that in mind when I start to get stressed.

I didn't get things finished that I wanted to this weekend.  I only posted two items at the store, and I have A LOT more to post- I didn't realize how time consuming it is.  But anyway, it's already late and I have a nice, long, bumper filled commute in la manana, so I need to get going.  I hope you had a great weekend, and enjoy this week!  In just two weeks, holy shit, NEXT WEEK you'll be (hopefully) stuffing your face with a yummy thanksgiving meal, so start your being thankful early and think about one thing you are thankful for everyday. Ta ta.

Happy Sunday!

Tomorrow is Monday already. ALREADY! I hope your weekend went well!  Mine was alright.  Friday I went to Goodwill with my dad-  he was kind enough to get the clothes for me so Michael wouldn't yell at me, I got the PERFECT pencil skirt, another one, a couple pants, a couple shirts, a belt and a purse I love (haven't bought a purse in a year!).  Saturday, I had a nice date with Michael, we went to the Leesburg outlets in Virginia.  The way we went was a very scenic route, and the weather was perfect!  I didn't buy one thing.  Michael even said "So what?  You only by used clothes now?? You're not even looking at anything!" I thought it was kinda funny.  Anyway, wanted to share Friday and Saturdays outfits:

{Everything from Forever21: dress ($14), jacket (clearance $16?), sunglasses ($4)}

{belt: thrifted ($2)}

Saturdays outfit:
{jacket: rugged warehouse ($4), white tee- Forever 21 ($4), trousers: thrifted (5), belt: thrifted ($2), shoes: Nine West ($70)}

 {purse: thrifted ($5), bracelets: thrifted ($2), necklace: gift}

This outfit is really one of my favorites.  The only downside to these vintage high wasted trousers is that they don't do a lot for my butt.  Either way, I loved this outfit!  When we went to the outlets, I switched the shoes to the sandals seen here.  The outfit looked just as cute.

So, that's all folks! I hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to a good week!

Happy Sunday Post That Never Posted

As I was on the way back from New York on the bus, I attempted to post a Happy Sunday blog, seeing as I haven't in ages, so I started with the blogger app that I have, and dozed off half way through.  "Damn girl! You must have been getting it in partying, huh?!" <--  Is that what you are thinking? Because it's not true.  I don't know why I was so exhausted, but my trip was pretty unsuccessful.  I didn't do anything I wanted because I had some type of stomach virus Saturday and Sunday was rainy and I had to come back. Oh well!  I am sure I will be back soon.

Oh! As it was NY Fashion Week after all, I did stop a couple people to get pics of their outfits.  Unfortunately, when I say a couple, I really do mean only two :(  I think next time I go to NY I will try to get more.  The first inspiring gentleman that made me want to snap a pic was in starbucks by himself.  He was an older, African American gentleman dressed so vintage and lovely, with a matching hat.  He said he didn't feel comfortable though, unfortunately.

Anyway, look forward to the NY pictures I will be furnishing you with this week, as well as some inspiring outfits.  For now, enjoy this spooky rooftop picture I snapped in Manhattan on Saturday night before bed:

Happy Sunday!

SpottieOtties is going to be on a break this week because.....

I officially got the house!! HOOLLLAA!

So with work work, packing, cleaning, organizing, getting rid of things, selling things and hopefully getting a yard sale together, I will have no time to blog.  BUT, I am plenty excited for upcoming blogs after this week, which will include:

- decorating ideas (or maybe even progress ideas)
- how to wear a dress in several different ways
- gift guide
- vintage pics
- fav postsecrets
- bargains

among many others!  Maybe I'll be able to sneak in a blog, we'll see how it goes.  But I just don't want to promise.

This weekend I scored a coffee maker, iced tea maker, a shirt and jacket for $15 from a couple yard sales.  What was the highlight of your weekend?  I hope it went well and have a great week ahead!

Happy Sunday!

Hello lovelies.  I hope your weekend went well!  We found bad news about the house today, when we were sooo close to moving out in two weeks!  The roof needs to be replaced soon, but it might be do-able so we'll see.  On the other hand, I caught a picture of this beautiful rainbow 5 minutes before it dissapeared yesterday.

Anyhow, I have a very, very busy week ahead of me between work and house-hunting, so hopefully the blog won't be too boring this coming week.  Regardless, there will still be the vintage pics, so you at least have that to look forward to.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Sunday!

Today was my first (official) Mother's Day!  I ended up conking out last night at like 9 p.m., woke up at 6 to feed Devin, and then woke up again at 10 to Michael shoving a camera in my face with my present and card laying next to me.  How sweet (except the me passed out shot isn't too cute).   I must say though, Michael did well.

Have you heard of Pandora?  It's a jewelry company (a bit overpriced) that allows you to customize your jewelry; they are most famous for their customizable charm-bracelets.  Michael got me the charm bracelet, with three starter charms, an elephant, in between two glass, light green beads, PERFECT!  I was really excited to look through the catalog he brought home that had pictures of the other charms, and though slightly overpriced, (starting at $25-145+) per charm, I found a couple cute ones I can't wait to fill it up with (pacifier, chucks, travel suitcase, teapot).

(I wish you could see the cute elephant, he even has a tail)

One option they have, is instead of a silver bracelet like mine, they have suede or leather rope ones, that can be very chic as well, I loved the rope one!

And since I didn't find a finished charm-bracelet example on the website (since you can create your own by dragging and dropping the charms), here is a picture from the catalog as an example of your end product.  Nice, right?! I am happy (thanks babe).  All in all, I had a great Mothers Day, and another great Sunday.  Hope your weekend went well!

Happy Sunday!

Mothers Day is next Sunday!  This will be my first official Mothers Day, and even though it is a silly commercial holiday, I am a little bit excited.  I would love to have a brunch with my mom.....along with some type of jewelry, since I don't have not even one diamond or gemstone.  Isn't that kind of sad?  I am not pressed for diamonds really (I even want a lab created if I ever get engaged), but I do want just a dressy necklace, every girl should have one!  I recently discovered the gem stone green amethyst, and fell in love.

But being a Mom isn't about getting spoiled on Mothers Day, is it?  For some it may be, but for me it will be a day of appreciating my Mom, reminiscing and now understanding so many things I hadn't before.  I am pretty excited.  What are you going to get your Mom for Mothers Day?  Some ideas:

- Massage gift card
- A lovely picture frame with a nice picture in it (Homegoods has beautiful frames, Target has nice ones too!)
- Make a brunch and put some type of pretty/different flowers on the table:
- Pedicure/Manicure (kinda unoriginal, but I'm sure she'll still appreciate it)
- A coupon that you will come clean the kitchen, bedroom, etc.
- Bonsai Tree

There are many little things you could do for your Mom, she'll probably love a sappy card too.  So, enjoy your Sunday, think of what you may get for next Sunday if you haven't already!

P.S. Macy's is having the family and friends sale, today is the last day to get 25% off everything online and in-store. ;)

Happy Sunday!

Today is a bit dreary, but I love dreary days, always.  I am a weirdo, so I've been told.  Anyway, I am going to clean up today and then paint on canvas for the first time ever! I have never really painted, except the elephant plaques I made for Devin's room (found on the baby blog I kept).  So I am really excited and nervous, because if I don't like it, I will be blown.  Hope you had a great weekend!  Try to enjoy your Sunday :)  **Take a moment today to realize and appreciate what you have.**

Happy Sunday!

I am on my way back from my weekend in Jersey and NYC. I had a great time with Michael and Devin and was very happy to see my friend Ruth.

I used to go to Brooklyn all the time 3 years ago, and I hadn't been for 2. We really didn't do much besides Chinatown and dinner, but I got a few cute things that I can't wait to share with you guys soon!

Happy Sunday!

The picture doesn't do the sunset in the mirror justice...

Hola peoples!  This weekend was pretty fun for me.  Friday night, did a party bus to DC, that was cool but actually not the best night.  Saturday was not feeling so well in the beginning (really because of lack sleep more than anything) but then grubbed at cookouts and enjoyed seeing people I hadn't seen in a while.  Then, I just chilled with some of my favorite men in my life, Dev, Michael and my brother.  We just sat back and relaxed, I enjoyed the weather, Cam played guitar for Dev (who loooooooves it EVERY time), and then I passed out early and slept in today.  Today there was a little running around but I feel I had a nice weekend.  I have lots and lots of work coming up this week!!  Hope you had a great weekend.

Happy (Easter) Sunday: A Picture Post

I have already cluttered up the walls of my fellow facebook friends with my weekend pictures of Devin, but we had two events this weekend, Devin turning 4 months, and his first Easter (which is special to Michael- I just liked his outfit).

For his 4 months, Michael had to help his parents with something so I decided to hike up Sugarloaf Mountain with Devster in the baby bjorn. My calves are sooooo sore now!! But alas we did it. Here are a couple 4 month pictures (p.s. notice haircut? I did it myself ;p) :

Here we are at the top of the mountain! I was sweaty and out of breathe, but I actually look larger in this picture than I am (I finally fit some old jeans, w00t w00t!)

And today, Easter Sunday, Dev and Michael went to church.  I did not attend, and therefore still am a Devil Bitch.  However, I enjoyed picking a cute outfit for Dev and I also bought a shirt for Michael as well.  Here are some pictures from today, some of them are blurry though :/

And last, but not least as it is my favorite:

Happy Sunday!

Today is yet another beautiful day.  Yesterday went up to 80 degrees and I believe today was supposed to be cloudy, but it is sunny and warm yet again.  We didn't end up going to Philly yesterday, which was a bummer, but we decided to just drive to DC instead, and enjoy the beautiful weather since it was Eid (Iranian New Year!).

We walked all around the mall and went to my favorite museum, The Natural History Museum.  We did a quick browse in there and then walked back to the car.  My sandal ended up breaking halfway to the car and I was shit outta luck....until I bought a t-shirt and the kind man repaired my sandal with rope and a knife!  After that, I saw a protest from that group of psychopaths that hate "fags" and America, oh and God does too by the way, apparently.  I think they might have been that group that goes to soldiers funerals and protest and tell the families that their son died because there are fags in America....like I said, psychopaths.  If Dev wasn't with me, I would have walked by screaming "yay fags! I love fags!" I was heated and disgusted.  Ugh!

Anyway, we got to our car, I fed little man and we drove to Georgetown where we stood in a 30 minute line to get some (slightly overrated) Georgetown Cupcakes.  They are good, but too much icing IMO.

Today, Dev is gonna get his professional pictures done for the first time, and we will all hopefully enjoy the sun some more!  I hope your Sunday is great too!  Enjoy some pics below.

Love this pic of our shadows (courtesy of Michael)

What a hip dad with Diaper Dude.

The group that elevated my blood pressure.

My foot looks a little beat, after all that walking, but see makeshift shoe.

I can dig it.  Happy New Year!

Little man in the baby bjorn talking.

Final destination.

Happy Monday

This was supposed to go under the Happy Sunday post- but I didn't have time yesterday to post it.  I swear Michael is really asleep and so is little Dev.  So cute!

I love Sundays and always have.  I always felt that they go by slow, which I enjoy.  Most of the time I like to just chill Sundays and clean up.  Lately, though, I have been visiting friends or family (right, Mom?).  I will try to post a Happy Sunday picture every Sunday from now on :)
