Vanilla

So, I looked up synonyms for "simple," and one of them was "vanilla"....??? Thus, that became the title for this post.  I really LOVED my simple outfit, and I got quite a few compliments on it, especially the head band.  I'm not much of a head-band-wearer, this is the only one I own, but it definitely accessorized this plain outfit and simple hair nicely.  Oh, and meet my new favorite shoes!

Oh, and meet this blazer.  I got it thrifted today! I rarely find blazers that are a perfect fit for me, and this was exactly that.  I love the slit in the back too.

I really am pressed for this outfit.  You may not see why, but it was one of those days I was 100% happy with my look, hair and everything.  Also, I found the blazer, ANOTHER amazing blazer with sequins(!), an animal print skirt (which I've been wanting- p.s. I LOVE it when I want something but I wait and find it at a thrift store!), another cute skirt I'll hem, and a wonderful belt.  All thrifted and amazing.

Not to mention these shoes I splurged on- but I have oh so many outfit ideas with them.  And, I love the fact I can wear them in all four seasons.

Tip: I know fo sho that red will be a color you will see often in fall 2011 style.

Pulled Over

Whoop whoop!  So, I got pulled over by the world's biggest douchebag cop.  He spent 30 minutes bitching me out, trying to scare me, and basically harassing me and making me wait for no reason.  All because I had ice/snow on half of the back of my windshield- $110 ticket.  UUGHH.  Anyway, let's get to the good stuff.

Vintage

black new york & comp cardigan: gab. bros ($6)
vintage dress (hemmed): thrifted, ($6)
hue tights- macys ($4)
steve madden shoes- ebay ($36- usually $80!)

(Sorry guys, that there's barely any space between the pics.  It's things like the editing on blogger that I really don't like...I sometimes wonder about switching to tumblr.  Thoughts?)

Love my little man.  Making him laugh is what I look forward to daily.  Nothing makes me happier!

About the dress, isn't it amazing?  I started getting serious about vintage and thrifting when I saw a bloggers amazingly beautiful vintage dress.  I was like, I gotta find something like that! I have had several finds that I love.  And I am impatient with shopping and sometimes even get overwhelmed.  But looking through all the clothes is soothing or something.  I really do enjoy the hunt, I didn't think I would.  Buuuuttttt anyway, I hope you had a happy Monday :)

Oh!

I have been asked several times about where I shop and how I get my hair to be volumonous.  I'm gonna tell you about where I shop now, and my hair routine later this week, so check back!

Where I shop:
- Goodwill
- Mustard Seed
- Value Village
- Forever 21
- H&M
- Salvation Army
ebay & etsy

Yup, I mostly shop at thrift stores these day.  I think I will do a post about going thrifting, for those interested.  Stay tuned, it's gonna be a good week for SpottieOtties :)

Pure Morning

Hello!  Today was a weird day with many hurdles, but somehow, I kept myself in a good mood most of the day.  To top it all off, the sky was beautiful tonight- I could see many stars.  I know, I'm such a damn hippie.

I felt super feminine today, but I really liked my tights plus heels and the whole outfit.  I'm proud of myself for putting it together! I know, I'm such a damn weirdo.

I even think the pictures turned out alright.  And yes, those are navy tights.

And a different tone/view of colors

And lastly, this is pretty funny and pretty ugly.  I had to put Dev in the play-pin for a minute while I took my photos.  Devin usually loves watching me take the picture with the tripod and remote, but sometimes he whines.  He did in this case, so I was trying to make him smile.  Annnnd it turned out not so cute, but I said 'why don't I show them a blooper?'  So here it is nice and small:

j crew button up tunic- "thrifted" ($14)
brown leather belt- thrifted ($3)
navy tights-jessica simpson, gab. bros. ($4)
f21 (very surprised this was f21 from the material)- thrifted,  ($8)
guess heels- thrifted ($16)

I had a hard time putting together an outfit with this skirt.  It's hard to define it's colors.  It's kinda like a gray/blue/tan combo.  The material, comfortability (not a word?), and cut were all impressive- I was honestly surprised they were F21 when I went to look at the tag.  I'm very happy with it though, and I can't wait until summer when I can pair it with a bright color (melon?) and brown gladiators.....and sunglasses.  Hot!

Happy Monday!

I hope your weekend was awesome!  Mine was alright.  I got a lot of sleep in.  My Monday turned out lovely because I got to a) enjoy the rain (you know I love rainy days) b)got off work early.  So we were told at 3 pm that we needed to be out of the building and parking garage by 4 p.m.  Everyone dipped out of there at 3:30.  Although I had to spend it doing errands like getting lots of groceries, I did enjoy not rushing and being able to grab the groceries, make dinner, have Devin in bed by 8 and then do other errands.  I didn't have to rush, so that nice, but I do wish I got to relax more.  Overall though, it was a good day.  Here are last Fridays outfit pics, because today's was nothing special.

striped cardigan: f21 ($14- used to be $24)
sweater: f21 ($12)
black pants: old f21 (?)
huntington boots: kids dept nordstroms, ($40- originally $78)

Saturday Monday

I wanna leave here in a minute for work and try to get there early.  Dev has been SUPER sick.  He has a bronchial virus called RSV, and needs to be on a nebulizer at night :( It's the saddest thing ever, but he seems to be getting better.  He was in bad shape this weekend, and especially Sunday and yesterday (Monday).

On a happier note, I had some great thrifting buys this weekend!  I got a bunch of stuff for $19 at this hospital thrift store (meaning the funds go to the hospital), and then this amazing jacket from a vintage store called Venus on a Half Shell in Frederick MD.  More about this later, I want to share some outfits, and I'll update this post later today.  For now, here are the pics:
