Lame

Can I just say, I'm watching Real World and the red headed kid is absolutely insane, and a huge____.  Like, I can't even take it.

But anyway, I had a long day, I just got home an hour ago. Straight from work I went to my hair dresser and got my roots touched up.  I didn't get home till 9:10 so, I'm feelin tired.  And I just want cupcakes. :(

Alas, I am not going to post the past couple days outfits today, but I will quickly post today's outfit today:

p.s. I hate these pics

Christian Dior boys jacket- thrifted, ($4)
h&m blue and black speckled shirt- ($13)
black knit stretch cropped pants- ($?)
hunter boots- nordstrom ($68, got for 40)

Not a color combination I would quickly think to put together, but somehow, it just came to me last night and I loved the idea.  I knew I didn't even have to try it on.  I absolutely love my hunter boots and am so thankful for them.

Before

Hola comrades.  As I promised, I am going to show you some "before" pictures of my house.  Yes, it's in it's current state, but this should give me motivation to get it done and make it so I love it.  I'll be hanging things up this weekend.  But, there's still a lot to do.  Anyway, I thank High Fashion for Less for reminding me that I need to update you guys with home photos  We used to have this layout:

This is what it's been rearranged to now:

 (sorry for the brightness...I'm learning)

My favorite chair that Michael hated!  I'm glad I didn't give into getting rid of it.  I then found this pillow at an estate sale, which goes perfectly with the blue and sheepskin from ikea.

Here is an antique kids rocking chair. Dev loves it.

Love this Russian doll, I got at that same estate sale, I always wanted one, and this person was well traveled!

The coasters are parts of the world.  Love my ceramic white elephant!

I just love this apron!  Isn't it adorable? It was $1.45 at valu village in silver spring- the huge thrift store I've mentioned.  I love the babushkas.

The first set of home photos I posted, I had posted these as well (I plan on hanging things up asap):

Now, the bedroom:

Don't think this is permanent (the color scheme), or even the whole thing to it,  I want to do something I really like with the bedroom.  Again, that's why these are the "before" pictures.

Love this anthropology ring holder! I got it for like, $4 or something.

BORING! And do you like the non matching pillows?  Our washer is currently broken, and we're running out of sheets, pillow covers etc.  Good thing the problem is getting taken care of this week!

And preview of tomorrow''s outfit:

Happy Monday!

I'm blogging from my iPhone, and not an app. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know to stay tuned because I'm going to post some pictures of my home!

I am getting serious about finishing my home. I need to hang up pictures, paint, get decor, etc. My eyes burn from staying up and cleaning last night so I could take pics. So come back!

Have a great Monday and a happy, fast week!

I Saw Red

Clearly, I have been very into this bright orangey-red and red colors.  I'm happy I'm seeing a lot of it this spring season.  Oh yeah, and it's OFFICIALLY spring! W00t!

Now, I really can't wait to show you my new favorite necklace.  I got it at the thrift store last week, and had to put it on immediately.  I thought I would get some weird looks from my fellow co-workers, but to my surprise, I got a lot of compliments instead.  I'm in love with this necklace, and love how it can be worn with almost anything- all while giving the outfit the ultimate finishing touch.

Behold:

The necklace has all types of animals, elephant, dog, llama, etc.  So many beautiful colors.  I wish I knew it's origin. Do you have any idea?

And now for the silly pic:

(I don't really know why I do this shit either).  But anyway, I really loved wearing this necklace with the leopard flats, it looked so planned, while it was so accidental- but clearly, meant to be.

worthington cardigan: thrifted, ($4)
taupe tee: f21 ($13)
black ann taylor crop pants: "thrifted" ($14)
leopard shoes: old f21 (?)
animal necklace: thrifted ($5)

Todays Outfit:

 red cardigan: thrifted, ($5)
black studded crop tee: gab bros. ($7)
olive green skirt: thrifted, ($5)
hue black tights: ross ($5 for a two pack)
steve madden shoes: ebay ($36+ shipping)

I really love the color of this skirt, I don't think the pictures portray it as accurately as I'd like.  I can do so much with it (color wise).  It'll be fun to remix.  Here's my little man enjoying red, thrifted, and vintage!

So that's that folks!  Hope you had a great weekend and an alright (or better) Monday!

Vanilla

So, I looked up synonyms for "simple," and one of them was "vanilla"....??? Thus, that became the title for this post.  I really LOVED my simple outfit, and I got quite a few compliments on it, especially the head band.  I'm not much of a head-band-wearer, this is the only one I own, but it definitely accessorized this plain outfit and simple hair nicely.  Oh, and meet my new favorite shoes!

Oh, and meet this blazer.  I got it thrifted today! I rarely find blazers that are a perfect fit for me, and this was exactly that.  I love the slit in the back too.

I really am pressed for this outfit.  You may not see why, but it was one of those days I was 100% happy with my look, hair and everything.  Also, I found the blazer, ANOTHER amazing blazer with sequins(!), an animal print skirt (which I've been wanting- p.s. I LOVE it when I want something but I wait and find it at a thrift store!), another cute skirt I'll hem, and a wonderful belt.  All thrifted and amazing.

Not to mention these shoes I splurged on- but I have oh so many outfit ideas with them.  And, I love the fact I can wear them in all four seasons.

Tip: I know fo sho that red will be a color you will see often in fall 2011 style.

R.I.P. Nate Dogg!

Anytime Nate Dogg would play on my iPod (I always listen on shuffle), I would seriously just appreciate his voice and think about how much I love him.  It's a damn shame he went this early.  RIP Nate!

Outfit of the Day

Can I just say, I LOVE wide leg pants.  I have always thought they were so classic and chic.  I still agree, and always will.

red cardigan: thrifted, ($4)
blue banana republic chambaray shirt: thrifted, ($4)
black New York & co. wide legs: thrifted, ($6)
watch- asos ($40 gift)

Do you see why I love these timeless babehs?  Speaking of babies:

I had to share my lovely and his toothy smile.  It kills me!

I just love hugging him skin to skin.  Every mom should have a picture like this.  Should every mom I put this pic up for the world? I felt kinda iffy about it at first, but I figure he's just a baby...well, actually technically a toddler.  It's kinda like when you would go to a restaurant and be 14, but would still pretend you were a kid for the kids menu.

Hope you enjoyed.  And hope you may have changed your mind about trying some wide legs if you were hesitant before!
